Goodbye empty batteries!

Mobile computers are becoming ever more powerful and versatile, but this also increases the demands on batteries. Several technological innovations in the latest models therefore ensure long runtimes of up to 28 hours and prevent unexpected failures.

Battery replacement during operation

Hot-swappable devices have an additional energy storage unit, so they can also function without a battery for a certain period of time. This means that the devices no longer need to be switched off before replacing the battery, and time-consuming tasks after a restart, such as user login or restarting the applications, are completely eliminated. Warm-swap capable devices are technologically similar, but a special mode must be activated before the battery is removed.

New battery technologies

Recent advances in battery technology have led to batteries with a much higher energy density. This has two advantages: Firstly, these new rechargeable batteries offer a higher capacity while remaining the same size and weight - ideal for power-hungry applications such as in the deep-freeze sector or in transportation logistics. Secondly, lighter devices with smaller batteries can easily be used for an entire shift without having to be changed.

Fast charging

Quick Charge 3.0 technology makes it possible to fully charge even larger batteries in just three hours. Various charging profiles enable targeted adaptation to current requirements, from extending battery life to ultra-fast charging. Some models also offer contactless charging or have a universal USB-C port.

Optimized energy consumption

With current Android systems, power consumption can be individually adjusted and thus optimized for long runtimes. The device manufacturers' energy management apps offer further setting options. Depending on the area of application, considerable savings can be made without compromising user-friendliness.

Intelligent batteries

So-called intelligent batteries store information on every charging and discharging cycle and report this directly to the device. Pre-installed energy management apps can alert users early on if the battery is running low. This information is also available via mobile device management (MDM) systems for centralized and efficient management of all batteries in use.
